Smithers B.C. might just be one of the most beautiful places in the world!

Hanging out in Helicopters
While getting ready to hop in the chopper for a ride up to the glaciers, my back was turned towards the passengers who had just landed. As I turned around, I snapped a pic with my Canon Rebel T3I, and looked up to cheer them on.
Before I could say a word my eyes met with one of the passengers walking away from the helipcopter, and I was given pause.
They weren’t adventure seeking passengers like me. They were fire fighters coming back home from fighting the forest fires that have covered Vancouver in a cloak of smoke.
This view in the pic below would normally include a mountain in the background, but you can’t see it through the haze in this photo.
Seeing the fire fighters gave me a deep sense of appreciation as I flew.
To those unnamed men and women, thank you for safeguarding our beautiful country – it’s so stinking beautiful!
It’s anybody’s guess where Waldo is, but there’s a Mountain Goat in the picture below. See it? lol
Golf Tournament Fiasco
Before the tournament, I was asked for my handicap. I don’t know much about golf, so I googled handicap and read that a 10 handicap is bad. Since you’d would say, “I’m new to the game” I let the organizers know that my handicap is a 10. What I didn’t realize is a 10 is only bad if you’re a pro, and as an amateur I’m more likely a 30.
During the celebrity auction portion of the tournament, my fake handicap was put up on the screen and the Leffer family paid a pretty penny to get me on their team. They thought they were getting a great player that would help them win the tournament.
Unfortunately they just got me, and their chances of winning began to fade.
Or did they?
When I broke the news to them there was an awkward moment, but we quickly laughed it off and began building a winning team vibe.
This lucky Ping putter was lent to me, and may or may not have anything to do with the incredible round of golf we played.
You’re not going to believe this, because I barely believe it myself
THESE BOYS WON THE DAMN TOURNAMENT!
We went 22 under which from my rudimentary understanding is outstanding.
I did contribute, I actually dropped 6 or 7 putts and even had a couple great drives.
Such a blessed experience, and we were able to raise a huge amount of money for the community hospital.
