Top 3 Reno’s – Save My Reno, Season 1

Alright, I’ve had a lot of people weigh in on what their favourite renovation was during this first season of Save My Reno, but I have yet to drop my two cents on the subject because Sabrina and I put so much effort into them all that I felt bad narrowing them down. Also I needed time to step away and have an unbiased look because usually my favourite build is the one I worked on last. To put a cap on this story, here are my 3 favourite renovations from season one.

NUMER 3: The French Kissed Modern Kitchen

We created a French bistro inspired vibe in this space. We achieved the look by using chevron backsplash, a chalkboard cabinet door on slider hardware and building in an island dinette with bistro chairs. Although this has nothing to do with the renovation, I also have to comment on the bar stools. They were some of the finest I’ve ever come by. Just looking at the space now makes me want to roll a crepe and flip an omelette.

NUMBER TWO: The Jewel Green Kitchen Dream

Eye candy is what I hoped this build would look like, but to me it ended up feeling like soul candy. Yeah, I don’t really know what that means either lol, but I do know that this space emits a feeling of regal serenity and calmness. I’m enamoured with the green kitchen, the reclaimed lumber fire place surround and of course the applied holding on the staircase wall. When you walk through the front door of this house and you’re immediately in awe.

NUMBER ONE: The Bigger, Better, Blue Kitchen

The build that stands out the most to me, I call the Blueberry. I’d like to say the inspiration for this space came to us on a sunny day when Sabrina and I were outside sharing a basket of Blueberries… the real story isn’t half as cute so let’s just go with that one. The thing I love most about this kitchen/dining room combo is the eclectic combination of styles. We painted traditional cabintetry in modern colours, threw in some barnboard and highlighted it with crown molding, then splashed the whole thing with a multitude of different metal accents. I’m so happy with the way all the different elements play together in a truly unique way.
