Having rocketed onto the television scene with his breakout show Tackle My Reno, Sebastian has become a staple personality in the renovation television scene. He is now starring in a new series called Save My Reno where he and his partner Sabrina Smelko help home owners with a tight budget achieve their reno dreams. He’s also back to help change one lucky viewers life when they win a home on the second season of HGTVs, Home to Win. Thanks to his charismatic smile and trusty tool belt, he has also joined The Marilyn Denis Show as a resident home renovation and DIY expert. Sebastian wears more than just a hard hat; his titles include licensed contractor, television personality, former professional football player, and adventure seeker.
The All-Canadian football standout graduated with a degree in psychology and was drafted in 2005 by the BC Lions. Under the leadership of legendary coach Wally Buono, Sebastian helped propel the BC Lions to a Grey Cup championship in 2006, solidifying Wally’s place as the most successful coach in CFL history.
After the sun set on his prosperous football career, Sebastian looked to his next areas of expertise, home renovation, and real estate. Having started his apprenticeship under a master builder at age 14, he quickly picked up his tools, brushed up on the latest renovation technology and began buying and renovating income properties.
Sebastian is now the principal owner of his own contracting firm, Clovis Contracting. He believes everyone should strive to understand the mechanics of their home, tackle home improvement projects while at the same time being able to identify when it’s necessary to call in a professional.
It doesn’t end with renovation work for Sebastian. He has a unique connection with his audience that stems from his personal journey from professional football player to licensed contractor. He thrives on inspiring people and loves seeing others take pride in, and make a difference in their community and the environment. Through sharing his journey he wants to empower everyone to tackle new challenges, not just home improvements but whatever interests them.
